Cover Boy

Kole’s been a little difficult lately. 90% of the time he is such an easy and loving child that when he gets difficult to deal with- we find ourselves at a loss as to the best course of action. Lately we’ve been at “a loss” more often than we’d like. I’m sure it has to do with this time of year, I recall saying similar things in years past around Christmas but man.

So we’re in the car and the boys are driving each other crazy and that’s driving us crazy and I catch big kid misbehaving when I look back to see what the problem is about. He looks surprised at first but not sorry. I ask him why he would think that it is okay to behave so badly?

He pauses and looks smug.

We wait for a response.

I decide not to push so we figure the discussion is over, the point has been made.

Suddenly we hear Kole say, “Did you know I was on the cover of a magazine?”

We hold back laughter (this is the first time he has brought it up and it happened almost 6 months ago).

We acknowledged that yes we knew he was on the cover of a magazine and he responds “that means I’m famous”.

We're shaking with laughter but we don't respond. It's too much.

POSC Christmas Gift Exchange

This was a rescheduled event for our Church Small Group.

Everyone made it (well out of our small group) and it was nice that we got to get together for a Christmas occasion. We were all a little tired from the last minute Christmas push but the time out to relax and enjoy friends was something I'm really grateful for.

Kristy's Co Christmas Party

This was a fun night but it went fast. We left from the Polar Express and arrived later than we would have liked. It was funny though, we got ready in the bathrooms of the convention center where we parked for the Polar Express and there was a party going on. People were walking in and there I was with my bags of clothes, make-up, and hairstyling products. I just pretended like I was suppose to be there but they knew better. It was one of those moments that I just had to get over feeling odd and enjoy the amusement of odd scenarios.

Parking at the party location was BAD and we got lost in the crowds trying to find our ballroom. It wasn't a big deal; we took it in stride, ate at a table of strangers and talked to those sitting on the outskirts. It wasn't my most social party, in fact people keep asking if we went, but those I did spend time with were really engaging!

We ended up missing the next activity all together because before you know it, it was time to go. Time flies when you're having fun.
